Overall this looks okay, but there are a few issues with Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings. They look too close to their SMB1 NES appearances, unlike Bowser. They should also retain the eyebrows and eyes that they have in older game art. |

The sprites look nice, but the formatting could use some work. You could easily cut down on the empty space by at least half. |

with a lot of trial and error you can extract the tile animations using MApRX. it's a great tool for extracting maps like the main room where there are no animations or destroyable objects, but takes some serious workshopping to get the rest. and yeah, backgrounds are still an issue |

You can actually cheat it with the NES with 2 palettes (Dark Blue/Light Blue/White and Dark Blue/Red/White) by assigning them to specific tiles. The idle pose for example, most of it would use 1 palette while the shoes, which look about 8 pixels tall, would use the 2nd palette. Other poses would probably have an overlay sprite like in Mega Man. |

That was me, I've never played the game and only ripped a single map to showcase a map viewer / level editor called MApRX by wwylele. This one lets you export any map as PNG and is a perfect tool for ripping this game. Its only weakness are backgrounds, I'm also not sure if it can display tile animations. |
